Stuart Smith 

Stuart Smith
Stuart Smith is an attorney and founder of The Stuart Smith Law Firm. Stuart received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and his law degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. There, he was an assistant editor of law review and served as judicial intern for the Honorable Melinda Harmon, United Stated District Judge for the Southern District of Texas.

During his more than 15 years as a practicing attorney, Mr. Smith has handled both transactional and litigation-related matters for numerous clients, including several Fortune 500 companies. As a litigator, he has worked on a variety of multi-party litigation cases, including those involving business disputes, probate, oil and gas, toxic tort and products liability. 
Stuart's transactional experience has included serving as general counsel of a multimillion-dollar company where he oversaw the legal department and was involved in the strategic planning for the company. Much of Mr. Smith's current practice involves working with high net worth families and assisting them and their businesses with their legal needs, including those related to estate and trust planning, business transactions, and the leasing, acquisition, and divestiture of oil and gas, real estate and other assets.

Mr. Smith is a member of the Board of Directors for Hospice of Midland, having served as the President for 2021-2022. He is also currently serving on the Board of Directors for Communities in Schools for the Permian Basin. In addition, he is a member of the State Bar of Texas; Midland Bar Association; the Permian Basin Landman Association; ADAM Energy Form Midland; the Oil, Gas & Energy Resources Law Section of the State Bar of Texas; the Real Estate, Probate, and Trust Law Sections of the State Bar of Texas; the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Texas; and the Champions of Justice Society.

Jacob Straub

Jacob Straub
Jacob George Straub graduated from Baylor Law School in May of 2009. He devotes a large percentage of his practice to real estate and probate law. Other areas of practice include guardianship, municipal/water law, and personal injury. He is currently certified as a Guardianship Attorney through 2025 by the State Bar of Texas.

Through the State Bar of Texas, Mr. Straub has served on the planning committee and taught at the Advanced Real Estates Strategies Seminar (2017). He also served on the planning committee and taught the Advanced Real Estate Drafting Course (2019), and served on the planning committee and taught Real Estate 101 (2018). Most recently, Mr. Straub has been course director, serving on the planning committee for Real Estate 101 from 2019-2022.
Mr. Straub volunteers yearly. He is also involved in several organizations that seek to improve the quality of life in the Central Texas area. He takes pride in the community in which he has chosen to establish his practice. When he is not working on clearing title to parcels of real property, he enjoys hunting, fishing, traveling, and the delicious homemade items he receives from clients.

John Manicom

John Manicom
Originally from Odessa (Permian 1980), John's primary practice area has been commercial litigation since graduation from Baylor Law School in 1989. John also has extensive experience in oil and gas, bankruptcy, contract, real estate, employment and family law. 

As a solo practitioner for the past two decades, he has provided a full array of legal services to his clients and has some experience in many other areas of law. John has been a member of the Texas Bar since 1989 and is admitted to the Federal Courts of the Western and Southern Districts of Texas.
